When it comes to choosing the right shower curtain for your bathroom, it’s important to consider what it costs and what you’ll use it for, says Dr. Daniel Sperl, a leading light on the subject.
“It is critical to understand the budget for your shower and its use,” he says.
Sperg’s advice: “Don’t be tempted by cheap items on the market, especially if you are just getting started.
They are usually less than half the price of what they cost in the store, and you may end up paying more for them than you paid for them.”
Speri says you should also keep in mind what you use it to wash, which is especially important when it comes time to use it in a bathroom, where you may be more likely to run into some water damage.
“Most shower curtains will not work in a bathtub, which can cause a lot of water damage,” he explains.
Saturating your bathroom with a shower curtain also gives you the opportunity to change out your shower head.
You’ll also want to consider the amount of water that’s in your shower, Spern says.
“If you’re using a shower head that is only about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter, you can easily run out of water,” he adds.
