The online retailer is buying dozens of products that it says have been “unjustly demonetized” in India, including curtains and curtain curtains.
The company also said it will “enhance its existing relationships with manufacturers to help them create products in India,” as well as expand its “global presence” in the country.
The company said it expects to bring back at least 30 of its products from the countries it has been forced to pull out of the market.
Amazon has already taken a hit in India because of its high prices for some of its best-selling items, such as its Prime service.
It said Friday that it will cut about a third of its workforce by the end of the year, and it has reduced prices for its top-selling products, including its Amazon Fire TV box.
