A Florida woman died after being struck by a car while trying to cross a busy intersection, officials said.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said 28-year-old Elizabeth A. Mott was killed Friday in the intersection of I-75 and East Main Street.
It said the car’s driver, 44-year old Timothy M. DeGraw of Florida, was cited for failing to yield to pedestrians.
Sheriff’s spokesman Capt. Michael Smith said Mott, of Palm Beach Gardens, had gone to the intersection to cross the street.
The sheriff’s office said Mowts body was found by deputies who responded to the scene.
Mowth was the mother of three children.
The coroner’s office is conducting an autopsy and a toxicology report will be completed, Smith said.
